Doug W. Mattix
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear friend and former LCOC president, Doug W. Mattix on December 1, 2011. Doug served as President of the LCOC from 1997 to 2005 and, most recently, was involved with procuring trophies for our national meets, among other activities. He was a great servant to the club and will be missed.
Jean Brown
Jean Brown, wife of Earle O. Brown, Jr., a long time LCOC, LZOC and Lincoln Foundation member passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011.
Art Whitmire
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear friend and LCOC champion, Art Whitmire on July 4th, 2011. Chris Otis, Newsletter Editor for the Lake Shore Region, has prepared a tribute: Special Edition Newsletter
The LCOC would like to notify members who wish to run for a position on the national board of directors that one needs to submit a short biography and a suitable picture to the Secretary at secretary@LCOC.org by April 30th, 2011 if one wishes to be on the ballot. The board will have up to 8 openings available. Due to an issue in 2010, the top 5 vote getters in this election will receive a 3-year term, while the lower three will get a 2-year term. The LCOC needs dedicated members who wish to help us improve and grow as a club.
The Continental Mark V Authenticity manual is finally complete. It covers all the judging details that owners restoring or preserving their 1977 to 1979 Mark V need to know. It is available to LCOC members and non-LCOC members. Go to the Authenticity Manual page for details on how to order.
Members of the LCOC are able to purchase any Ford vehicle under the X-plan. For details on how to begin the process, contact our president, Glen Kramer, at president@LCOC.org or give him a call (his phone is published in your LCOC directory).
The LCOC has a new bulletin board, The Lincoln & Continental Corner, where members can post information about their cars and exchange technical information. It also includes Wanted and For Sale sections where LCOC members (only) can advertise for wanted items and list their cars and parts for the world to see. So stop by "The Corner" for a chat!
